10 minutes from the remains of Banyas city

The remains of the city of Banyas (Arabic pronunciation of Panias) are located in northern Israel, at the foot of Mt. Hermon. The Banias cave is about 15 meters high and 20 meters wide and water sometimes collects on the floor. Long ago, the spring actually bubbled from the cave itself. The five niches hewn in the nearby cliff are the relics of a temple to the Greek god Pan.

10 minutes from the Nimrod Castle

Nimrod's Castle overlooks Banyas-the ancient city of Caesarea Philippi and the source of the Hermon River, one of the sources of the River Jordan. The castle commands a formidable view of the Hula Valley, the Mountains of Naphtali and the Lebanon Mountains.

5 minutes from ancient Tel Dan

The area was originally the Biblical town of Laish. During the time of the Judges the tribe of Dan was originally located in the center of the country (Gush Dan), but was hemmed in by other tribes as well as by the Philistines. The elders of Dan told their young to head north in search of more room. The tribe of Dan conquered this land for themselves and established a ritual area here after the tribes broke up into the Kingdoms of Judea and Israel.

15 minutes from Tel-Hai

The fort of Tel-Hai was one of the original four Jewish settlements in the Galilee. Tel Hai was attacked several times by Arab gangs. Trumpeldor and seven other members of the settlement were killed on May 11, 1920.

A monument to the fighters of Tel Hai, a large stone lion, sits near their graves, just up the road from the fort. This spot also serves as a great lookout point of the surrounding area.
