Standing in the Talmudic era synagogue of Chorazin and looking down at the light blue waters of the Sea of Galilee, 900 feet below, one can’t help but be inspired. Chorazin was one of numerous towns that thrived in the Galilee – after the destruction of the Second Temple.

A Jewish Synagogue from the beginning of the 7th century, once situated in the center of a northern town, which flourished in the Roman and Byzantine periods. Constructed entirely of basalt, it is notable for the wealth of its decorations. The synagogue was partially preserved to a height of 3 m.
