Best Pages

This page describes the purpose and contents of the reports in this section. Select a menu item from the left menu bar in order to view the actual reports.

This section contains reports that show which pages score highest with regard to certain measures of the user experience.

The first measure is of page usability, counting special indications of the user experience in general.

The other measures are more specific, counting the effect of various measurements on indicators of negative user experience:

  • Pages with best size: typically, the smaller the better.
  • Pages with best text to graphics ratio: typically, pages that are overloaded with graphics could be impressive on first display, but the might slow down the system response.
  • Pages with best performance (response time). Page response time is composed of processing time (applicable to frame sets only) and download time. Best response time is few seconds. Response time of more than five seconds might be a problem, depending on the user's motivation. In some cases, too short response time might be a problem as well, if the screen change is hardly noticeable.
  • Pages with best internal linking (references): users find the links to the reported pages easily, and the page that they get displayed on screen is the one that they expect.
  • Pages with best information presentation: users understand what they see on screen and the information there meets their expectations.

Each of the reports is actually a list of site pages, presented in descending order of a special measure for the corresponding aspect of the user experience.

Each page in each report has a Details link that enables to view details about the selected page. Click the Details link to get these details.
