Page Information / Compatibility

This page describes the purpose and contents of the reports in this section. Select a menu item from the left menu bar in order to view the actual reports.

This section contains four diagnostic reports about the compatibility of the information on screen with the user's expectations:

The compatibility reports are obtained automatically, by analysis of the time stamps recorded in the site log files, by analysis of the time elapsed form the finish of the page download until starting the download of the next page.

There are two report about task-driven, focus oriented navigation, and two reports about exploratory navigation.

Task driven navigation

The reports about the compatibility of task related information to the user expectations are:

  • A report about pages that are difficult to read or comprehend

  • A report about pages that distract the visitors from their focus.

Exploratory navigation

The reports about the compatibility of exploratory oriented information to the user expectations are:

  • A report about pages that are uninformative

  • A report about pages that make the users feel inconvenient, presumably because they include content which is considered as unacceptable or because the information is presented in an annoying form, such as animation.

 Each of the reports is actually a list of selected pages, presented in descending order of the problem severity.

 Each page in each report has a Details link that enables to view details about the selected page. Click the Details link to get these details.
